Is there much difference between High Efficiency and Regular furnaces?

High Efficency vs Regular

The difference between a High Efficiency furnace and a regular furnace (with them both being new) is anywhere from 10% and 16% in efficiency. If we are speaking about an older model (15 - 20 years old), the High Efficiency furnace will be 25% - 40% more efficient. Most regular furnaces have a 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), where High Efficiency can range from 90% - 97% AFUE.
