Carbon monoxide is a flammable, colorless, odorless, tasteless toxic gas produced during incomplete combustion of fuel. Complete combustion is when one atom of carbon links up with two atoms of oxygen. This produces carbon dioxide which is harmless. When one atom of carbon links with only one atom of oxygen (lack of oxygen)it produces carbon monoxide gas which is very harmful.
